Somewheres, Anywheres, Nowheres? Some Current Scholarly Challenges
People on the move is a theme of world history, and at present as important as ever. But at the same time there are people who stay in the same place, and for many, the longer-term questions of settling. These are all encountering each other. In my presentation I will review some of the ways such issues have been discussed before, to suggest that scholarship may be well served by sometimes glancing backward at itself. And I will point to areas where cultural studies can make a difference now.
